PERFECT PROTEIN FOR PREPPERS
Whether you are into backpacking in the woods or preparing for disaster, people require protein for physical and mental health. Beef jerky is a time-tested way to carry light-weight fully prepared high quality protein with you wherever you need to go. The cooking process of dehydration retains vitamins, amino acids and nutrients lost and broken down with all high temperature cooking methods. Roughly speaking, 3 pounds of beef renders down to about a pound of jerky, while only water weight is lost and all goodness remains. The high sodium content of our marinade insures freshness for months to come without need of refrigeration. Best of all, no further food preparation is required. Jerky protein is ready to consume when you need it. Oh, and it tastes awesome too!
The making of our beef jerky begins with a whole eye round roast of USDA choice beef, born, raised and harvested in the USA. We choose this cut from the upper rear thigh area as it is economical and not highly marbled with fat content. We like our jerky to be as lean as possible. Its texture is firm which allows it to slice very cleanly and evenly.
We begin our marinade using a blend of Soy and Worchestershire sauce’s and this creates the base for all our jerky. Each flavor then has added to it a combination of fresh spices to create the particular flavor. We allow the fresh sliced beef to marinate in this flavored blend for 24 hours under refrigeration.
We prepare our beef by first slicing it into 1” steaks and trimming off the exterior fat. The individual steaks are then sliced into 1/8” strips.
The sliced beef is removed from the marinade and dehydrated on racks in our dehydrators…
…and the delicious result is ready to be vacuum sealed and shipped to you!
